SPECIALIZED CARE UNIT
In order to provide the latest and best care for residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia, ECC Retirement Village established a Specialized Care Unit in 1985 on the 4th floor of the Warfel Care Center, Albright community. It was the first of its kind in Lebanon County, PA. Structured activities programs during waking hours are designed to meet the resident's individual abilities and administered in both group and individual settings to provide varied levels of daily socialization.
When the Village purchased the StoneRidge community in 2000, we also established a structured program in the Healthcare Center there — the Odyssey Program — which addresses the needs of individual Alzheimer's and dementia residents with daily activities that seek to establish patterns of everyday life and instill a level of comfort to life at StoneRidge.
Both units are highly acclaimed and recognized throughout the central PA region for delivering exceptionally personalized and compassionate care.
Residents who reside in either community receive care/accommodations equipped with:

• An Alzheimer's/dementia trained team that understands the unique symptoms of the disease to provide not only exceptional resident care, but support to help families cope as well
• 24-hour staffing
• Fully secure units which allow freedom of movement within the parameters of prudent safety measures, such as secured exits and keyed elevator access
• Personal rooms with attached bathroom and Comcast® basic cable TV service

All Specialized Care Unit residents receive:
• Three meals per day plus snacks
• Personal laundry service
• Weekly housekeeping service
• As-needed therapies
• Medication and healthcare management

We encourage families to take an interest in assisting their loved-one(s) in creating a home-like environment of familiarity by supplying furnishings and other personal effects/decor for their accommodations. Please consider safety at all times when selecting items/furnishings your loved-one might appreciate in their unit.
